The beauty of having fitted sheets is they stay put on your mattress, so you’ll only need to tuck the edges under to tighten them up.

Lastly, straighten out your blanket and duvet cover by pulling out the edges. Then tuck them under the mattress to smoothen them out.

  1. Spread out your fitted sheet on top of your mattress. Align the corners and tuck the top corner of the sheet over and under your mattress. Repeat on the bottom corners, and smooth out the sheet.
  2. Lay the top sheet over your fitted sheet, and let the extra fabric hang over your mattress. Make sure each corner is even.
  3. Align your blanket on top of your top sheet. Tuck the bottom corners of the top sheet and blanket under your mattress. Then fold over the top corners around 17-18 inches (43-45 cm) toward the center of your mattress. Then tuck in the extra fabric under your mattress.
  4. Add your duvet cover or comforter, and smooth it out. Leave the bottom corner and the sides untucked, but make sure they’re even on each side. Fold over the top corner of your duvet cover or comforter, aligning your top sheet and blanket.
  5. Lastly, arrange your pillows on the top part of your bed, and you’re done.

Once you master these basic steps, you can add on more layers to make your bed more comfortable. You can even mix and match different colors and patterns to make your bed more personal.
